learning to love you more - #27

Take a Picture of The Sun - I did, and this is the result. I'm not satisfied. It is currently 3pm and I just finished taking this picture. I guess it is too bright. I will wait until the sun is going down tonight, take another picture, and post it here.

The location for this photograph is U.S.A., TN, Chattanooga, Ziegler Rd. - time 3 pm.

she loves violets (i think that's what these are called-the second and last pic) and has different colors of them. I think they were her father's favorite flowers. He recently passed away, and since then she's been planting a lot more of them.

Here are some more images. I wanted to point out that she loves using stones (big and small) to enhance how her garden looks. I found parsley, green onion leaves, and small yellow flowers that were all by themselves in a back corner of the yard. I think they are wild. I doubt she planted those.

learning to love you more - #66

I live with my parents, but I stay very busy and I don't get to spend much time around the house. Sometimes I leave in the morning and come home just in time to go to bed. Today I have a little more time to get acquainted with my mom's garden. She has a green thumb and spends a lot of time gardening flowers or vegetables. It is her way of relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. Assignment 66 from the Learning to Love you More Website gives me the opportunity to have an up-close look at my mom's passion for the outdoors. It is interesting to look at little details like the decorations inside pots or the arrangement of plants in specific spots around the house. It makes me wonder how much time she might have spent on that and what might have been going through her mind while she was working in silence.
I will write more in the second post for this assignment. I had more pictures than what blogger allows for one post.

wooden dowels tower

I don't have an image for any of my work yet, but I've been working on this project for a long time yesterday. I now have lots of 6 inch squares that are glued and tied. I'm planning on making cubes out of them. I couldn't think of an easier way to make the cubes, other than to make squares firts. It is so difficult to glue the dowels since the wood glue does not have any immediate grip.
My next step is to decide if I want to put diagonal supports in for each cube or to put the cubes on top of each other first, and then put in diagonal supports for the larger structure.
Any suggestions are welcome.
